Training Session Types

Bay City Stroller Workouts

 

The needs of a post-natal mum are differ throughout the post natal recovery cycle. To ensure that you receive the best possible and safest workout relative to your ability, we have devised sessions particular to your needs. If you feel that your ability exceeds the level of the session offered, speak to your trainer. Only they have the discretion to progress you a more challenging workout.

 

Please note: all sessions are of 1 hour duration.

 

1. First Steps (typically < 9 months)

 

This workout is for the mum who has never really exercised, has only being walking, or is resuming their exercise program after the birth of their child.

 

It is also suitable for pregnant women up to 25 weeks.

 

Usually this mum will still be breastfeeding (or bottle) and have a child that is yet to really take to solid foods.

 

The First Steps program is specifically designed to cater to your post natal needs and covers a period of approximately 3 months of training (based on 2 sessions per week).  Sessions target particular problem areas and take into account the pain and physical weaknesses that follow pregnancy and birth.  This workout is designed to restore core stability, improve flexibility, strengthen your back and chest (therefore enhancing circulation while breastfeeding) and improve cardiovascular fitness.  

 

Throughout this period you will lose weight, gain strength and provide your child with an invigorating and stimulating start to their life. Pelvic floor reconditioning is integral to this workout.

 

Having successfully completed the First Steps program, mums can then progress to the Wheelie Fit sessions.

 

2. Wheelie Fit Mums (typically > 9 months)

 

The Wheelie Fit mum has recovered from the rigors of childbirth and has an established level of cardiovascular fitness, strength, flexibility and core stability. This workout also caters for those mums that have progressed through the First Steps stage.

 

There is an increased intensity in all facets of the workout, with all mums encouraged to set and achieve new goals for their health and fitness.  Your trainer will guide you though areas that need more attention to ensure you have a balanced fitness regieme. 

 

Consistent training in Wheelie Fit sessions can have you achieve health and fitness goals you had previously never dreamed of!
